There are so many ways and surroundings.
Ok, if I was having dinner with the Queen of England, I would say, "May I be excused."Less is more. The more formal the situation, the less you say. It's considered bad form to even admit to the baser human needs (bathroom activity, sex, blowing your nose). If I was at a party with a bunch of friends...I dunno, I guess I'd just say, "I'll be right back." See, I'm not one of those women who have to go with someone. Most women have to go in a herd. Other women usually say, "I have to go powder my nose." or "I need to go to the little girls room. Anyone else want to come?"
Of course, now with a 3 year old, I say, "Alex, let's go make pee-pee." Not that I'm into announcing it, but if I don't I'll get questioned all the way to the toilet. "Where we going? Why are we going? What are we going to do? Is it a surprise?"
Ever watch Ren & Stimpy? Ren once said, "but first, I have to whizz!"

or you can say,

"I have to go water a tree"
"I have to take a leak"
"I have to shake the weasel"
"I gotta take a piss"
"I gotta go so bad that my eyes are turning yellow"

I'll be right back.
